How do we give AND receive right now? 🌻

There is so much heartbreak in the world right now.

My heart wants to wrap around the people of Ukraine fighting for their lives, the trans kids and their families in Texas, the LGBTQ+ folks in Florida and all of my loved ones that are currently navigating the murky depths of their own grief and healing.

I find myself clicking on "Top Stories" on my phone and listening to the news on the radio in my car.

And calling my friends to check in.

We're all processing and feeling so much all at once.

And as it's been for the last two years [and even heavier right now], there are a lot of places that would benefit from our attention, love, and care.

And, one thing that I know for sure [especially while there is SO much I don't know] is that I can be more compassionate and more present when I'm being compassionate and present with myself first.

I can help better AFTER I've tended to my own needs...

  • After a walk in nature to see what's blooming (I added a pic from my walk on Friday at the bottom of this email)

  • Or a big glass o' water in my favorite purple glass

  • Or a good cry to a song that touches my heart. [This week, it's been this one.]

What helps you feel more compassionate and present with yourself first?

In Monday's new podcast episode, I talk about how we can open BOTH the giving valve and the receiving valve to pour supportive, healing energy into ourselves.

“The cure for burnout is not “self-care”; it is all of us caring for one another.
So we’ll say it one more time:
Trust your body.
Be kind to yourself.
You are enough, just as you are right now.
Your joy matters.
Please tell everyone you know.”

Here are a few things that have been supporting me lately:

  1. A To Do List that honors what matters most to me AND my energy levels. Purchase my To Do List Workshop to upgrade your To Do List too! Your investment is $47 and includes the video workshop, a workbook, a slide deck, and a playlist to support you all at your own pace.

  2. My Forest Sanctuary body oil from Nomad Botanicals. I'll put a couple of drops on my palms to "visit my forest sanctuary" whenever I need to throughout the day. I don't receive anything from this company, I just love their stuff!

  3. Prioritizing what I need over trying to be perfect. Listen to Kelly Haller's thoughts on trading perfection for wellness on last week's podcast episode. She's an amazing mom + business owner + total badass with LOTS to say about how perfectionism just ain't worth its cost.

  4. This powerful and gorgeous Ted Talk by Valarie Kaur: 3 Lessons of Revolutionary Love in a Time of Rage. I cried through the whole thing - you may want your tissues nearby for this one.

  5. Dear friends that I can give and receive from with total ease. Friendships where she can hold space for me and I can hold space for her. No keeping track or lopsided support. If you'd benefit from more mutual + growth-full relationships like these, consider adding your name to the waitlist for a new offering that I've created - a coaching circle for a small group of deeply caring, high achieving women [to be announced soon]!

I'm sending lots of love to you.

Thank you,

Stacy
